Overview
Creators ofUnstable Unicorn, Here to Slay is a strategy card game where players take on the role of animal guild leaders and seek to assemble a team of heroes to defeat formidable monsters and block their opponents. All in an adorably illustrated fantasy universe with a humorous tone. Your goal is to become the best adventurer by first fulfilling one of the following two victory conditions:
– Kill three monsters
– Assemble a team including six heroes of different classes
Analysis
Each card is beautifully illustrated in a cute and colorful chibi style, especially the monster cards! TeeTurtle, also known for its geeky T-shirts, puts its graphic expertise to work here to create the game's visual identity. The cards are of good quality, the text is clear (even if a little small for my eyes), and the iconography is well thought out.
The game is quick to install and easy to transport — I actually discovered it on an Italian beach! And in Italian (thanks to Google lens! 😉 )
This is a game that often comes out when cousins are around, because the interaction it generates creates a joyfully chaotic atmosphere at our house 🙂 Between the offensive spells, the challenges and the card thefts, it's impossible to stay in your corner without being attacked. This makes it an excellent choice for groups who like dirty tricks and twists of fate.
Be warned, though: if you like to have complete control over your strategy, this game might frustrate you. Like its predecessor, Unstable Unicorns, or in the spirit of Exploding Kittens, you're often attacked by other players—sometimes for no reason at all! =) That said, this game offers a touch more strategy.
EXPANSIONS
Several expansions are available, adding variety to the cards with new classes, game mechanics and additional symbols (Classes).
Warriors and Druids
What she adds:
Two new classes: Warriors and Druid
New heroes, magic cards and monsters.
Interest :
Allows players to expand their class choices. Druids often offer effects related to card manipulation or healing, while Warriors are more direct and offensive.
Berserkers & Necromancers
What she adds:
Two new classes: Berserker and Necromancer
An undead summoning mechanic
Very powerful but sometimes unstable heroes.
Interest :
A more advanced expansion, with a more aggressive playstyle and impressive effects. Necromancers often interact with the discard pile or bring back "dead" heroes, which adds a fun tactical dimension.

MY IMPRESSIONS
I loved :
>> Charming illustrations and universes.
>> Easy to learn rules, good accessibility.
>> Quick to take out and put in place.
>> Very interactive and dynamic, full of dirty tricks.
I liked less :
>> Variability in the length of games: some can drag on.
>> It is difficult to get out of it if several players ally against one.
Here to Slay is a perfect game for fans of fantasy, epic duels, and laughter around the table. It's not a pure strategy game, but rather a fun and competitive game that shines with its style and atmosphere.
