Hello everyone!
Jarjar recently invited me to contribute to his board game blog. Being a bit of a technophobe, I was hesitant at first. However, the prospect of being able to share my passion for games and actively participate in the cyber world of gaming convinced me to take the leap! I will therefore try to master the intricacies of blogging on the interwebs, slowly but surely! Please be indulgent with the format and my lack of artistic intuition! More specifically, I plan to share my opinion on the games I have tried, my recent discoveries, my sometimes disjointed ideas, as well as write game reports.
Jarjar was my first real gaming friend, and it goes back to 2007 or 2008, when Race for the Galaxy came out. We were both wandering souls and newcomers to the gaming world, looking for partners to try this new thing. At that time, board games weren't very popular yet, and let's face it, it had a bit of a... hmm... "gang of pimply people in a dark basement eating Cheetos" connotation. Each of us, like 5-year-olds on their first day of kindergarten, was looking for a ti-nami to play together. A happy coincidence of geographical proximity allowed us to quickly set up a "gaming date" to try Race for the Galaxy, via the Dragons Nocturnes forum. From our first meeting, it was love at first sight! (for RftG and modern games, not for Jarjar!). The flame of the board game had just been lit and an ever-growing fire was about to be born from that day.

Fast forward to 2025: several hundred game purchases and thousands of plays later, I reconnected "concretely" with Jarjar to contribute to his blog. Between 2007 and 2025, our paths crossed at regular intervals but never for very long (life, family, and work, you know...). We still kept in touch regularly, fueling our gaming passion. What I remember from all these years is that despite too few opportunities to play together, a great respect has grown between us. We often ask each other's opinion on a game, a possible purchase, or the reason for selling a game. We have fairly similar tastes and we can trust the opinions and advice we give each other.
Thank you Jarjar for giving me the opportunity to participate in your world!
I'm so glad you accepted my offer, and really happy to collaborate with you to spread this passion online, together!
Indeed, we discovered this passion at the same time in our lives — a time that changed our lives, and no doubt also those of our loved ones, positively of course 🙂
I have very good memories of it, including one in particular, which perhaps explains our distance =)
It was during a game of the excellent game Labyrinth – The War on Terror, 2001–? (GMT Games) where I played the Jihadists and you the Americans. I managed, against all odds, to use a weapon of mass destruction on the United States, it was truly memorable!
Thank you Kruspin and welcome to this wonderful adventure!
Haha yes that was a real blow on your part, but don't worry: I don't hold any bitterness about it!
