Arkham Horror, the card gameWe dusted off this classic this spring; why did I let it lie dormant for so long! Narratively, it's top-notch, and the card illustrations enhance the story. I bought another campaign—ouch, $100! It's getting expensive, though; Fantasy Flight Games is overcharging.

Cities USAI enjoyed the first game, so I got the second one. This one adds a few more gamer-oriented twists and fun elements: skyscrapers, bridges, and highways. For those who already own the first game, there's no need to get this one; the gameplay is very similar.

A Wild Venture A truly lovely little box, packed full of content, a model to follow in the industry. The concept of a card with resources that you spend each time you use it—once empty, it goes back into your score pile—is very enjoyable and fun. Several great and satisfying chaining opportunities. Excellent!

How to save a worldA very interesting concept where you have to work on three projects together to avert the catastrophe of a meteorite crashing onto your new planet. The more you work on a project, the more points you're likely to score if it's the one that succeeds at the end of the game. With four players, it's impossible to know which project will come out on top; it's better with two, probably good with three (not tested).

Astronomical Clock, a fairly classic worker placement game, but the mention here is really for the game's graphic design, which is very pretty, impressive and attractive on a table!
