I am not an author, nor a developer, and do not work in the gaming field, board games are a hobby that has become a real passion for me over time. As far back as I can remember, I have always loved playing. From simple and classic board games to video games, including role-playing games, now devoting a lot of time to board games, I have great pleasure in buying them and taking the time to discover them, I have a collection of more than 400 games, stored in my basement.

I spend a lot of time reading about the subject. I love discovering new features in order to find new mechanics, but also simply out of curiosity.
I live in Quebec with my partner and two children, who are now young adults. I love the outdoors and am lucky enough to have a cottage near a mountain where I enjoy downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, and trail running. I also coach youth soccer, a very rewarding hobby.

The origins
The discovery of modern board games, beyond classics like Monopoly or Risk, began with The Adventurers of the Rail, which my brother showed us at a family reunion. We quickly started playing games because we loved it so much. This experience led us to other titles, such as Carcassonne, Catan and the excellent Citadels, whose games multiplied quickly, "not yet the Condottiere" became THE catchphrase for the last players.
My growing passion led me in 2008 to the community of Night Dragons, still active today. This forum not only introduced me to many games and fun events, but also allowed me to meet extraordinary people who have since become very good friends!
You will find on the page Why board game a reflection on what brought me into this world and why after all these years, gaming still holds an important place in my life
Among my inspirations, people I love to read, there are:
- Ludo le gars, accompanied by his daughter, Leila, make us relive their games in the smallest details. He agrees with me a lot in his comments.
- Geeklette, who is on the lookout for the latest news and does not hesitate to share them via his sites and his account on X.
- Vin de jeux, full of great reviews and a dynamic ranking which I admit, has a certain influence on me π
- Paula Wong (on the Boardgame Revolution Facebook page), she shares her playful moments with her daughters, it brings back good memories with my children.
- other sources:
- The magazine Gamebox
- The forums of Night Dragons, Tric Trac et BGG

Where does my nickname Jarjar come from? It dates back to the dawn of the democratization of the web, at a time when I was looking for a digital identity. It was in 1999, a landmark year with the release of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, a film that had been waiting for more than two decades!
I remember the excitement: the spectators applauded the trailer, a rather rare phenomenon. Having grown up surrounded by Star Wars figurines and my precious Millennium Falcon, I was deeply affected by this saga during my childhood. I chose the nickname Jar Jar in homage to this historic cinematic event. Although the character is not central to the saga and sometimes makes you smile with his big ears and his particular language, he remained for me a symbol of this long-awaited sequel.
