"I am often asked what is your favourite game?" and the answer for me is that there is no such thing as a favourite game. For me, a game is not absolute. A game lives through the people who play it. Therefore, my favourite game depends on the group of people I am with and what we prefer. For example, I play different games with my parents than with a group of friends. With my parents, I play a lot of traditional German card games. I have a school friend with whom I only play speed chess and only with him do I play speed chess because it works for us and it is simply enjoyable. What is enjoyable for me is the time spent with other people – different people create different atmospheres. You need the right game for the right occasion."

Board game players are of all ages, from all backgrounds, regardless of professional work, many of us play games because they bring people together, because they create an often very festive atmosphere, allow us to disconnect from the routine of everyday life, but also because they are simply fun. Games can also be powerful building blocks for building connections and friendships, I have met people while playing who have become very good friends over time.
Board games are also an incredible tool for teaching children how to think, react, win or lose gracefully. My children grew up in this world, learned to read and count before most other children, and today they are doing very well in school. I absolutely believe that the many sessions spent playing together are partly responsible for this. And if you are reading this and have children, especially young children, go buy your first games quickly, because they will change their lives, bring laughter into the house, improve your relationship with them (if you are not too strict about following the rules to the letter, the game must remain a game) and allow them to become better people!
Many evenings that could have been ordinary have become memorable thanks to board games. They allow us to escape the grip of screens in order to share moments of exchange and laughter. They stimulate our minds and through their varied themes, they make us travel and discover new universes in an immersive way.
